Michael's Book Babble

I'm an indie author and a scribbler of inane babble. I talk about books I've read/liked. Or at least, that's the plan.

Most of the reviews will be considered "mini-reviews." Usually, it's mostly my reaction to what I've been reading. There are people who are far better at doing full and helpful reviews. But I still have fun doing them, and hope you enjoy them!

A Music Confession

A while back I posted that Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here was my favorite Floyd album, because I tend to listen to it more than Darkside or The Wall.

That changed a few days ago…because I listened to all of The Wall for the very first time.

Can’t explain why I hadn’t given it a deep listen in the past. Perhaps I was intimidated by it. In fact, I think it was exactly that. I knew it was a classic, and I knew it was a concept album that told a story. And I was too afraid that I wouldn’t be able to comprehend any of it.

I’ve been on a Floyd kick. Animals was practically on a loop.

It was time to visit The Wall, once and for all.

And now? I. Can’t. Stop. Listening. To. It.

True, I did have to look up some of the album’s meaning on the interwebs, but I had a pretty good idea of what was going on. And now it’s quickly become one of my favorite albums.

So, yeah. The Wall is now my favorite Pink Floyd album.

But Wish You Were Here is still pretty friggen’ sweet…

I know this isn't at all book related, but music--especially good music can also tell powerful stories.
