I'm an indie author and a scribbler of inane babble. I talk about books I've read/liked. Or at least, that's the plan.
Most of the reviews will be considered "mini-reviews." Usually, it's mostly my reaction to what I've been reading. There are people who are far better at doing full and helpful reviews. But I still have fun doing them, and hope you enjoy them!
I don't think I've read a lot of new releases this year. I mostly read or listened to books that I've been meaning to read for the longest time.
With that said, as of now I think my favorite novel of the year is Stephen King's Revival. It just surpassed every single expectation I had for it. And it's one of the best endings King has ever delivered, and also the most haunting and bleakest. I think I'm actually going to grab the hardcover copy instead of waiting for the paperback.
My favorite short story collection of the year is Margaret Atwood's Stone Mattress: Nine Tales. A brilliant, brilliant collection.
