I'm an indie author and a scribbler of inane babble. I talk about books I've read/liked. Or at least, that's the plan.
Most of the reviews will be considered "mini-reviews." Usually, it's mostly my reaction to what I've been reading. There are people who are far better at doing full and helpful reviews. But I still have fun doing them, and hope you enjoy them!
Atwood does a great job of reading the story, "Stone Mattress." I usually worry when authors read their own work on audiobooks, because there's only been a handful that have impressed me. Her reading is very understated and is a bit slower than the others, but it fits the tone of the story perfectly.
And once again, this was another story that rocked.
I'm on the very last one now. At this point I can say eight out of the nine stories are excellent. There's a very good chance that's going to get bumped up to nine out of nine. Even if it doesn't happen, it's safe to say this is one of my new favorite collections.
